Provost Gathering 2020: Breakout
Strategic Doing Approach to Building Trust in Research
This proposal is for a hands-on, interactive workshop that uses a disciplined approach of Strategic Doing to create a psychologically safe space for in-depth conversions about complex challenges. The workshop will be guided by the following appreciative framing question: Imagine that UF is the most trusted research institution in the nation. How would it look like?
Workshop participants will work in small groups of 6-8 to develop ideas for projects that address the challenge above. Their discussions will be guided by the four questions of Strategic Doing:
1. What could we do?
2. What should we do?
3. What will we do?
4. What is our accountability and progress plan?
- Experience collaborative communication that builds trust and psychological safety
- Explore collaboration strategies
- Brainstorm about ideas and projects to promote and build trust in research
